Success for ½ûÂþÌìÌà at this year’s Skills Canada National Competition

FREDERICTON – Six New Brunswick Community College (½ûÂþÌìÌÃ) students and apprentices accepted medals at the Skills Canada National Competition closing ceremony which took place in Moncton on June 8.

We would like to congratulate the following ½ûÂþÌìÌà apprentices and students who were medallists:

We would also like to congratulate ½ûÂþÌìÌà student Joel MacNevin and apprentice Michael Joseph McGuire who competed as part of Team New Brunswick.

“We’re so proud of all our ½ûÂþÌìÌà students and apprentices who competed at the 2016 Skills Canada National Competition,” said Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. “They did an excellent job of representing the College on the national stage while demonstrating their amazing skills. The performance of our students and apprentices at the provincial and national competitions reflects the quality and expertise of our instructors and programs.”

“To pull off an event like this is truly the effort of a group of committed people,” said Luscombe. “I’d like to thank the ½ûÂþÌìÌà staff who played a role in organizing and volunteering at Skills Canada. I’d also like to thank Skills Canada and Skills Canada New Brunswick for leading a successful event.”

Sponsors and donors from across Canada and New Brunswick played an integral role in making the event a success. In total, they provided over $3 million worth of in-kind donations.
